OENEO Closures USA relocated its sales office to Enterprise Way in May of 2002, and added the current production plant in order to better service its customer base. We keep in stock several lots of corks that provide a wide selection of grades for local winemakers to select from. We even set up lot specific tasting session on request, at no extra charge. Once the corks arrive to Napa, they are first Q.C.'ed both at our plant and by an independent local laboratory (with GC/MS, SPME technology for releasable TCA detection). Click here to see a sample report. Please refer to our Q.C. program for more details, and remember that we can customize our program to meet your specific requirements.
The corks are then sorted by our state-of-the-art optical sorting machine, and kept in plastic bins until an order is placed (see sample lot sheet information). We offer both fire branding and ink printing at no extra cost. Our clients only have to pay a one-time minimal tooling charge per desired artwork. The corks are then covered with a silicon coating that insures easy cork insertion and extraction, and which also limits wine seapage and leakage. The plant has a remoisturizing room that brings the cork moisture back up to a targeted 5.5% to 6.5% moisture level, helping the corks to insert properly during bottling, and at the same time helping to minimize cork dust. All corks are then packaged in 1,000 unit bag, under SO2 to insure protection against any growth.
